New computer.

Well, the replacement Athlon CPU I picked up started getting the habit of shutting down on me, so I decided to bite the bullet and upgrade the whole cpu/motherboard/memory/power supply combo I talked about last time.

So I've bought some parts and put them together, it should be a lot faster than my old PC I put together in like late 2005 or early 2006. Woohoo! :D

I'll talk about it later after I'm sure it doesn't blow up on me.

Upsen.

So, what bits and pieces did you end up getting?

The video card in my older PC has been having fan issues so I keep getting GPU overtemp warnings when I'm dual boxing COH. I didn't want to replace the entire guts of the box since everything else runs fine, so I spent a few days trying to actually track down an AGP, yes I said AGP, video card of all things.
I finally found something decent and ordered it, and now I'm just waiting for it to be delivered.

The irony is that after this upgrade, my older "crap" computer is going to actually have a more powerful GPU than my "demi-god box" but due to the much slower CPU, it'll probably still lag behind in performance.

Now if only the video card in my "demi-god box" would finally die and give me a reason to upgrade it as well. :)
